Become a Program Sponsor

The Portland Farmers' Market Association's Low-Income Food Access Program fights hunger and promotes healthy eating by making the market accessible to shoppers using SNAP (formerly known as food stamps) and offering these shoppers bonus Maine Harvest Bucks (MHB) to buy more fruits and vegetables.

Our program allows the market to accept SNAP transactions through a centralized information booth. To attract and further support shoppers using SNAP, the market works with the Maine Federation of Farmers' Markets to offer a 2:1 matching nutrition incentive (MHB) in the form of tokens that can only be used to buy fruits and vegetables at the farmers’ market.

Hundreds of families and seniors are purchasing more nourishing fruits and vegetables to live a healthier life.

Your tax-deductible sponsorship contribution helps the program operate year-round.
